Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

It feels like...

Some say it feels like your eye twitching. Like a little tiny random muscle spasm.

Some say it feels like a little fish splashing up against you.

And some say it feels like popcorn popping...

I'm not sure what is the most accurate, but either way, I CAN FEEL BABY. It's still sporadic, but it seems to happen most often after I eat or after I drink something sugary. WOO!

Guacamole Cinnamon Twist!

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

First off, the title is from a song I used to sing when I was a councelor at the YMCA. It's about Taco Bell. :)

So, week 16, officially 4 months. Woo!

The belly is beginning to actually look pregnant, but I am sure some are still assuming I'm just enjoying too much food. Whatev.

Nausea has faded to a dull roar, and doesn't strike as often. The car sickness seems to have mostly faded. Although I had a mysterious puking bout a few days ago. Weird. My moods are relatively stable although I must say I get annoyed REALLY easily and have a really hard time hiding it. So if I snap at you, I'm sorry. It's not you, well it is you, but... Anyway.

My pregnancy book validated that I am getting more forgetful and more clumsy. I believe it said that women lose a significant number of brain cells during pregnancy, but not to worry, I SHOULD get back all my lost brain cells a few months post-partum. Key word... SHOULD. Hmm.

Well, here is this week's obligatory pic. Don't mind the dusty mirror. :)

So, speaking of the babe, it can now hear me... kinda weird. Need to work on cleaning up my vocabulary. AND, in ONE WEEK, we will know what we are having. I've set up a poll for you to take your guesses. Have fun and I will keep ya'll updated! :)

It be a orange.

Week 15. Holy moly! In exactly two weeks we find out if this little munchkin is a he or a she. I can't WAIT! I'm having all kinds of anxious dreams about what could go wrong. I'm sure that's normal. I am having a really hard time getting a good night's sleep. Supposedly my body is already trying to prepare me for baby. What the H is up with that. I need my sleep while I can get it. Come on body.

Other than that, it's getting slightly uncomfortable to sleep on my belly, but that's the way I sleep so I'm still doing it some. It's such a weird feeling to feel this little ball in your belly when you lay on your stomach. Very odd.

Jimmy and I went and bought some maternity clothes this weekend. Please tell me who thinks it's a good idea to put the maternity clothes in the middle of the plus size section at Target. As if I don't feel like enough of a fat ass... if I wonder over too far from the four racks of mat clothes I am suddenly shopping in the plus size section. Not that there is anything wrong with plus size... just sayin.

Here is the updated belly pic. Not too much of a difference from last week, but people who know I'm pregnant are saying they can tell. I don't think anything has "popped" yet. Maybe in the next couple weeks.Anyway, I suppose that's it for now. I'll keep ya posted on the happenings. Right now, I'm hungry, need to go hunt down a morning snack...

Wanna make lemonade?

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

So, what's new this week. Starting to feel less nauseous. Still get sick (not puking, but yucky feeling) everytime I'm in the car. Who knew motion sickness was part of this package. Oh, and everytime I brush my teeth I gag... A LOT. Other than that, I'm still a little tired but for the most part I'm starting to get some energy back. I've been a little crampy. They say it's all the ligaments stretching and pulling and making room for our little lemon.

Starting to pooch out a little in my lower belly. I suppose we can start documenting now for those bugging me about it... Anna. :) I can officially feel "something" when I press down on my lower belly, so it's kind of cool.

Well, YEA for officially making it to the second trimester! 14 weeks down only 26ish to go! Phew.

Update on me and the Bun...

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

Haven't been to the dr. again or anything, but figured I'd update ya'll anyway. :)

Little belly is starting to poke through, it's little, but people who know I'm pregnant say they can tell. Who knows. I felt some very small popcorn pops way way low a few days ago, that's what they say baby moving feels like. I know it's really early, but I've never felt anything like that and I haven't felt anything like it since, so I guess we will see.

Baby is the size of a peach, YEA! Tomorrow I will be 13 weeks 3 days which is the official start of the 2nd Trimester (40/3=13.3) so that is FANTASTIC. I'm starting to feel better. Not as nauseous all the time. Although I did puke yesterday brushing my teeth. Toothbrush in mouth equals instant gag reflex, it kind of sucks. Thank god for mouthwash.

A coworker gave me a few books today, so I'm excited to check them out. One of them is a super fun name book. We are set on a boys name, but if it's a girl, that's going to be tough.

I can't wait to find out what we're having on 2/2, it seems so close yet so far away. We have told pretty much all the important people in our lives, I don't think I'm going to announce it at work, I think I will just let the bump speak for itself and let people ask. I won't deny it.

So, there is my boring update. Hope all is well. Loves!
